RAMP AGENT

The ramp agent supervises and coordinates all activities at the aircraft during Ground Time to include loading, unloading, fueling, cabin cleaning, catering, water and toilet servicing and security of the passengers while disembarking and embarking. At some airports and at the request of an airline the ramp agent also is responsible for the push-back maneuver. The ramp agent is the contact person for the cockpit and the cabin crew and functions as the intermediary between Airline Ground Operations, Aircraft Technical Support, Ground Handling Team etc.. Punctual completion of Ground Handling activities is the goal of every ramp agent. It is most important that the ramp agent determines the right time to lead passengers to the aircraft. Another major activity of the ramp agent is the supervision of loading/unloading of dangerous goods and special freight such as animals or bulk packages.
